OYSTERS AND LIVE MUSIC FOR VERONICA
Support for Veronica continues with oyster roast and live music at Bowen’s Island! This is the last local support event before the S.C. Supreme Court hears oral arguments for Veronica’s case.
Charleston, S.C. — Since New Year’s Eve, thousands from around the Lowcountry and beyond have come together to support Matt and Melanie Capobianco, of James Island, as they fight to bring home their adoptive daughter Veronica. A family-friendly benefit will take place on Sunday, April 15 at Bowen’s Island off Folly Road.
The fund-raising event will be 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will feature an assortment of food and drink vendors, and entertainment provided by a variety of local musicians including Smoky Weiner and the Hot Links, Hank Marley, The Stilletos and special guest David Ezell and others.
Bowen’s Island Restaurant will sell oysters and BBQ will be available from the Barbeque Joint in Park Circle, as well as sandwiches from the Wich Doctor on Folly.
In addition to live music and entertainment, guests will be able to bid on donated items from local artists and businesses. The cost to attend is $10. Tickets will be available at the door. Children 5 and under are free.
All proceeds from the event will go to support the Save Veronica Legal Fund through the Christian Alliance for Indian Child Welfare.
